Windows 10 driver has been tested up to version 1809. The driver should work for newer versions as well; However given the updates in the signing process by Microsoft over the last few Windows 10 releases, if a newer version shows Digital Signature Errors, do contact support@ase-systems.com to report and check for the latest driver and release dates.

Windows Vista and Windows XP SP2 / SP3

Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit driver will work on Windows Vista and Windows XP SP2 and SP3 in most cases. If not try the older driver below. However, these are currently not supported by ASE.

This tool allows the user to update the firmware and license information on the BCOM-USB device or just the license information for the SafeNet Sentinel device:

The latest firmware for the BCOM-USB device.Firmware updates are accepted by all BCOM-USB devices except those running Firmware version 1.10.0.38 and 1.10.2.43. All devices, including those running 1.10.0.38 and 1.10.2.43, will accept license file updates.

For all other firmware version, the AseLicenseManagerUpdater.zip must be installed in order to download the firmware to the BCOM USB device. . The firmware update will start when the downloaded .hex firmware file is selected. When the update is complete, the ERR lights on the BCOM-USB will blink in a “ping-pong” pattern and you will be prompted to unplug and re plug the USB cable to activate the new firmware. See the BCOM-USB Device User Guide for full details.

Download the latest release of the Standard Version of the ASE2000 Communication Test Set. This service is available currently licensed users of the ASE2000, or to those who need to view a capture file. The software requires the ASE2000 hardware and licence key to operate.

To View capture files, no hardware is required, however you will have to contact ASE for a licence key to view the captured data in the correct protocol format.

Current Standard Version of the ASE2000 Communication Test Set software is Version 1.56 File size approximately 45 MB. Please note: Version 1.56 requires the latest Microsoft System Installer (MSI v 3.1) – Please click here to download MSI Software.

Windows 7 64 bit requires extra Network Drivers for “Monitor Mode” ( for IP based such as Modbus TCP, DNP LAN/WAN or IEC 870.5.104) download the Windows 7 64 bit Network Driver supplement by clicking here.

For those who need to view a capture file, you may download the latest release of the Standard Version of the ASE2000 Communication Test Set. The software will not be able to scan devices, without ASE hardware. To View capture files, no hardware is required. Below is the licence key for viewing DNP (Serial, LAN/WAN), IEC-870-5-101, IEC870-5-104 and Modbus (ASCII,RTU, TCP) capture files. SafeNet Sentinel Security Plug (Dongle) : SentinelProtectionDriver 7.5.8 -Windows XP, Windows Vista I/O driver for the SafeNet Sentinel Security Plug. This driver is used in conjunction with ASE2000-COM model test sets to enable the ASE2000 software and supports both the parallel port and USB security plug . File size approximately 6.2MB.Unzip the downloaded file onto a flash drive or into a temp directory on your C drive to create a Driver Installation folder and specify the location of the drive and folder when prompted by Windows for the location of the I/O driver.!!! Windows XP / Vista – PLEASE NOTE !!!The drivers are not “signed” by Microsoft and, depending on the security settings of your system, this could prevent installation, generate a warning, or allow installation. The default is to generate a warning. Please do not abort the installation.
